Canton of Caldrithig Meeting Notes

ATTENDING:

ACTIVITIES REPORTS:

There was a fighting practice although none of the fighters present at 
today's meeting were at the practice.  RHODRI is looking a volunteer who 
attends fight practice on a regular basis to collect the money.

EREC reported on rapier practices.  There were about 20 people at Thursday's 
practice.  A lot of practice was had by all.  There were only 6 fencers at 
Sunday practice.  Of these 6, 3 are new fencers.

Application deadline for the Canton Rapier Marshall is Feast of the Hare.  
Decision for the new Marshal will be announced at Feast of the Hare.

As there were no dancers present from this weeks dance practice, there was no 
report.

Dance practice is cancelled this Wednesday, October 8 due to lack of room.

Reminder that the new dance series, Italian Renaissance, started last Wednesday 
(October 1).

DISCUSSION ITEMS:

1.	The Canton taxes to the Barony are due at Feast of the Hare.  All the 
information is on the Caldrithig web site.  Your input is due to ANGHARAD on 
Sunday November 2 (the Sunday before Hare) for her to prepare the binder for 
Their Excellencies.

2.	Newcomers' seminar scheduled for today was cancelled.  It is to be rescheduled for another date.

3.	SIGLINDE brought material from her library and did an information 
session on Merovingian costume.

4.	Reminder that there are two Baronial positions open, Exchequer and Minister of Arts and Science.  Wednesday October 8 is the closing date for MoAS 
applications.  Monday October 20 is the closing date for Exchequer applications.

AROUND THE ROOM:

1.	SIGLINDE is looking for cooks for Hare.  Four menus for Hare:  2 variations 
of peasant fare - each serving 50, Penitential serving 25, and Nobility 
serving 25.  When attendees are booking for feast, they need to decide which 
variation that they want.  The menus will be accessed from the web page.  
ANGHARAD to send this information to the E-list, Skrael list, Caldrithig list 
and all the Canton seneschals.  SIGLINDE will coordinate with AEFLAEDA for 
serving arrangements.

Proposed pre-cook dates:  Sunday October 19 and November 2.  Dates to be 
confirmed this week.

2.	JUDITH asked ANGHARAD to check for church availability for Sunday, Dec 7 for a possible Feast of St. Nicholas potluck (St Nicholas day is Dec 5)

3.	DUBH is looking for suggestions for SCA days.  There will be a Gold Key Day after Hare.  That's the day to bring all your garb that you have become tired of or no longer wear.  SIGLINDE would like a story telling SCA day before 
Hare.

4.	DUBH is the entertainment coordinator for Feast of the Hare.

5.	OUEN is taking feast reservations for Hare.

6.	GEOFFROI has the next issue of the Chronicle almost finished.  There is an 
article on electronic format for the Chronicle.
