ATTENDING: Angharad (Chair), Rhodri, Anne, Stephin, Richard, Gina, Chiara, Cristabell, Wilhelm, TSivia, Eleanor, Dubh, Geoffroi DISCUSSION ITEMS: 1. Dandelion Festival: - It was fun. Attendance was approx. 75 - New Baronial Rapier Champion: EREC - Armoured Combat activities: Skrael against the World - Food and bar were good - Awards and accomplishments: PAITLIN received a Maiden's Heart, MATILDA authorized in rapier and received her AoA, MICAYLAH received her Black Hare, KERSTEKEN received the King's Favour and her Bunny Tail, SVEN received a Queen's Favour, EOGHAN and BRENNA both received Bunny Tails. - A&S displays: Marzipan Maypole (SAVINA), embroidered cotehardie (MATILDA), embroidery (MABH), period wooden toys (RAYMOND) - there was a real Maypole. LUCIA was deemed "Most Fertile" and awarded the Maypole wreath and ribbons. - There was a dragon archery butt - Escutcheon painting went well but needs more participation. GENERAL NOTICES: 1. Deadline for Hare bids is 30 April. ANGHARAD currently the only bidder. 2. Deadline for Autocrat's Day Off is 30 April. DUBH and GEOFFROI are currently the only bidders (joint bid) 3. Deadline for Practicum bids is 01 August. 4. There will be a brainstorming meeting for April 04 Coronation bid on 11 May at 3:00 p.m. AROUND THE ROOM ITEMS: 1. GINA - recent and planned activities at West End A&S include card weaving, soap-making, games, felting, cooking, illumination/calligraphy, paper making. 2. CHIARA - planned Newcomers' Seminar: needs help. Needs teachers, resources. - plans to renew Gold Key in Fall. In the meantime, garb donations are welcome. 3. CRISTABELL - some newcomers are not feeling welcome. Is the perception of "pay to play" a problem? Discussion concluded that first time attendees should not be required to contribute to the donation basket. - Other helpful suggestions: make around-the-room introductions, develop a mentoring system for newcomers, information table at events with handouts to ID mentors. 4. CRISTABELL - Dance practice: beginner level English Country Dance for the first hour, followed by an hour of "By Request" dances for three weeks. The last week of the month would be a "Ball" in garb with "nibblies" available. Dubbed, "Hare Ball". 5. RICHARD - will make banner stands for folks for $30 (finished). 6. ELEANOR - there will be a banner stand making night at the next Hard & Soft A&S (Tuesday, 06 May). 7. DUBH - Heraldry Day is planned for 25 May.
